The Thaddeus Miles Community Leadership Scholarship

The Thaddeus Miles Community Leadership Scholarship

The Dimock Center’s Thaddeus Miles Community Leadership Scholarship supports high school seniors who live in the City of Boston who are graduating from Boston-area high schools (Boston Public Schools and other area public and private schools). The scholarship is named for a tremendous community leader who has dedicated himself to advancing social justice and uplifting our community. This award is intended to provide additional financial resources for motivated and hard-working students who have demonstrated leadership to support them in their pursuit of higher education. A total of ten scholarships will be awarded annually. We are deeply grateful to Berkshire Bank for their generous support in creating this scholarship.

Thaddeus Miles is a passionate leader, advocate and champion for community. He has founded and led numerous organizations in Boston to empower young people and instill in them a sense of pride, responsibility and achievement. These include Hoodfit, which amplifies the positive attributes in people’s neighborhoods that have allowed them to grow strong, experience resilience and exercise strategic problem-solving. Hoodfit and the Boston Athletic Association are partners in Dimcok’s Road to Wellness 5K Walk/Run. He has received the Heroes Among Us award from the Boston Celtics, the Embracing the Legacy award from The Robert F. Kennedy Action Corp. and the Directors Community Award from the Director of the FBI. Mr. Miles is the Director of Community Services at MassHousing.
